Cookie notice

This site sets almost no cookies.

Most cookie notices are a page of text explaining thirty trackers. This one is short because there is very little to explain.

We do not run advertising on this site, we do not use tracking pixels, and there is no embedded map, video player or chat widget loading anything from anyone else.

What we use

Strictly necessary storage: One entry in your browser’s session storage, used when you click a menu link that points at a section of the home page from another page. It remembers which section to scroll to, is cleared the moment it is used, and is gone when you close the tab. It is not a cookie, it is not shared with anyone, and it cannot identify you.
Analytics: Google Analytics 4 is built into this site but is switched off unless a measurement ID is configured. When it is off — which is how the site ships — no analytics cookies are set at all.
Advertising and tracking: None. We do not use any.

If analytics are switched on

Google Analytics would set cookies to count visits and understand which pages people find useful. Those are not strictly necessary cookies, so under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they require your consent before they are set — not merely a notice that they exist.

If you are reading this and seeing a cookie banner on the site, analytics are on and you have a genuine choice about them. If you are not seeing a banner, they are off.

Managing cookies yourself

Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies for a site, usually under Settings then Privacy. Blocking everything from this website will not break anything, because nothing here depends on a cookie.
