Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Masters Roofing And Construction Ltd collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be readable rather than to be long.
The short version: we collect what we need to quote and carry out your work, we use it for that, and we never sell it or pass it to anyone for marketing.
Who we are
Masters Roofing And Construction Ltd is the data controller for the information described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 15863920, with a registered office at 55 Grafton Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 1QY.
You can reach us about anything in this policy by email at mastersrandcltd@gmail.com or by phone on 07377 884529.
What we collect
There are three ways information reaches us.
- The enquiry form on this website. It asks for your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the type of work and a description of the problem. All six are required — we cannot quote without them.
- Contacting us directly. If you call, email, message us on Facebook or Instagram, or reach us through Checkatrade, MyBuilder, Bark or Google, we hold whatever you send us in the course of that conversation.
- Becoming a customer. Once you accept a quotation we will also hold your address, our correspondence, the quotation and invoice, and photographs of the work. Photographs are covered separately below.
Website technical data
Our web host records standard server information for every request, including your IP address, the page requested and your browser type. We also hold your IP address very briefly in memory to rate-limit the enquiry form, which is what stops it being used by automated scripts. That rate-limiting record is discarded within a minute and is never written to a database.
This website does not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies or social media trackers, and it does not embed any third-party map, video or chat widget. The area map on the home page is drawn by us rather than loaded from Google.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Under UK GDPR everything we do with your information has to rest on a lawful basis. Ours are these.
- Contract
- Quoting for and carrying out work you have asked us to do, and dealing with anything arising from it afterwards.
- Legitimate interests
- Responding to enquiries, keeping records of what we quoted and why, protecting the website from abuse, and defending ourselves if a dispute or a claim arises. We have considered your interests and none of this is more than you would reasonably expect from a roofing contractor.
- Legal obligation
- Keeping accounting and tax records for the periods HMRC and the Companies Act require.
- Consent
- Where we ask to use a photograph of your property in a way that could identify it, and for any optional analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Photographs of your property
We photograph our own work — before, during and after — because it is how we evidence what we found and what we did, and because our Checkatrade profile and this website are built on it. Those photographs are of a roof rather than of a person, and we do not publish addresses.
Where a photograph would identify a property recognisably, we will ask you first. If you would rather we did not photograph your job at all, or would rather we kept the photographs for our records but never published them, say so at survey and that is what will happen. It will not change your price.
If a photograph of your property is already published and you want it removed, email us and we will take it down. We will also ask Checkatrade to remove it from our profile there.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing. We share it only where we have to in order to do the work.
- Our email provider, which processes enquiries sent through this website so they reach us.
- Our accountant and our bank, for invoicing, payment and statutory accounts.
- Suppliers and manufacturers, where a job has to be registered for a manufacturer guarantee — for example RESTEC or the SIG Roofing One Warranty. This is what puts the guarantee in your name rather than ours.
- Subcontractors, where part of a job is carried out by a specialist. They receive only what they need to do their part.
- Our insurers and, if it ever became necessary, our legal advisers.
- Checkatrade, if you choose to leave us a review or if work is arranged through their guarantee scheme.
- Anyone we are required to give it to by law.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become jobs
- Twelve months from your last contact, then deleted. Long enough that we recognise you if you come back, short enough that we are not sitting on a pile of strangers’ details.
- Quotations that were not accepted
- Twelve months, then deleted.
- Completed work and correspondence
- Six years from completion. This matches the period during which a claim could be brought under the Limitation Act 1980, and it covers the workmanship guarantee.
- Accounting records
- Six years from the end of the relevant accounting period, as HMRC requires.
- Job photographs
- Kept indefinitely as a record of the work, unless you ask us to delete them. Published photographs are removed on request.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to do any of the following, free of charge, and we will respond within one month.
- Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy of it.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete it, where we do not have to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
- Restrict what we do with it while a query is sorted out.
- Object to us relying on legitimate interests.
- Provide it in a portable format.
- Withdraw any consent you have given, including for photographs.
- How to ask
- Email mastersrandcltd@gmail.com or call 07377 884529. You do not need to use any particular form of words.
- If you are not happy
- You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Where your information is held
Our website and email are hosted on servers in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards permitted by UK GDPR — an adequacy decision or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through the enquiry form is encrypted in transit. Access to enquiries and customer records is limited to the people who need it to do the work. No system is perfect, and we would rather say that than claim otherwise — but we do not store card details, and we never ask for them by email or over the phone.
Children
This is a roofing contractor’s website. Our services are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if what we do changes. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised. This version was published on 23 August 2026.
